ONE-DAY SEMINARS
LOW BACK (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
In the PNMT for the Low Back seminar, you will learn how to efficiently evaluate and treat people with various types of back pain involving the lumbar area. In order to accomplish this, you will learn to clearly identify the anatomical landmarks necessary for great palpation, identify and address the correct soft tissue structures that affect the stated pain pattern, and review how these soft tissue restrictions are tied to movement and everyday complaints. THORACIC SPINE (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
The thoracic spine may very well be the unsung hero of the human body. While the low back and neck get all the attention and treatment, the thoracic spine plays an enormous role in the health of both. Lack of mobility in the thoracic spine typically goes unnoticed. Unfortunately, when the thoracic spine has restricted movement, the low back often tries to make up the difference. This quite often leads to pain in the low back. Treatment on the low back will ultimately fail, since the low back is doing too much, since the thoracic spine is doing too little. There are many possible causes of pain in the thoracic area, many of them respond very well to precise manual treatment. The difference between success and failure is quite often the skill level of the therapist. Our goal is to help you attain the skill level needed to effectively problem solve your way through commonly presented pain syndromes of the mid-back. (More Info)

THE SHOULDER (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
PNMT for the Shoulder is our most popular one day seminar because the prevalence of shoulder problems is so high. We begin the seminar with assessment and treatment of the complex relationships of the muscles that affect movement of the scapula. Attaining full scapular motion is crucial to attaining full range of motion of the humerus. Participants will also learn to measure and treat movement restrictions of the humerus using various testing and assessment techniques. PNMT treatment techniques are flexible in nature, highly targeted, effective and very efficient. You (and your clients) will be amazed at the immediate results. (More Info)

ARM AND HAND (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
A great number of people suffer with pain and discomfort in the muscles of the arm and hand. Many of these people are often frustrated with the care available to them; what they need is very thorough, careful, and precise treatment of the musculature. This takes both knowledge and time, something that makes Precision Neuromuscular Therapy an ideal intervention. Who better to treat people with hand and arm pain than those of us who use our hands as our primary instrument? If anyone should have a vast and deep knowledge of this area, it should be us! We welcome you to attend the PNMT Hand and Arm seminar, one of the most practical seminars you may ever attend. Moving away from recipes and routines, PNMT will drastically increase your problem solving skills, moving from technician to clinical artistry and mastery. (More Info)

THE HIP (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
The vital role of the hip as a source of pain and its role in healthy movement is often overlooked. Issues of the hip may present local pain but can also greatly effect areas both above and below. For instance, restrictions in the hip demand that the low back compensate, leading to low back pain. Treatment of the low back (where the symptoms present) will be frustratingly unsuccessful. It is common to have hip pain where no visible pathology is discovered, precise soft tissue approaches can be amazingly effective. The focus of this seminar is on accurate assessment strategies and effective treatment techniques to help you treat the right structure for the right reason. We don’t just teach you how, we teach you why! (More Info)

LEG AND FOOT (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
This seminar is essentially the second half of the Lower Extremity seminar. In it, the participant will first explore pain conditions of the knee. There are many soft-tissue conditions that create medial and lateral knee pain, all of them related to different muscles and ligaments. Some of the soft-tissue symptoms overlap with more serious intra-joint ligamentous issues. Participants will learn how to make good judgments as to the source of the pain and how to address it effectively. In the lower leg, conditions affecting the anterior and posterior shin splints, calf pain, and pain syndromes of the feet (such as plantar fasciitis) will be explored. The participant will leave with clear clinical reasoning skills to determine the source of a client’s pain and the technical skills to positively affect that pain. (More Info)

THE PATH TO MASTERY Â (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
If you wish to play soccer, your coach will run you through numerous drills to hone your skills at the many aspects of the game. Golfers spend time on the driving range working on putting, chipping, short irons, long irons, sand traps, etc. Pianists spend hours playing etudes, pieces designed to develop specific skills in the art of the piano.
In this workshop, the participants will spend the day identifying, fine-tuning, developing and exploring the specific skills needed to master the science and the art of massage therapy. From palpation games to listening and observation exercises, therapists will explore and deepen their understanding of the skills it takes to pursue excellence in this field (and have a lot of fun at the same time!) Let the palpation games begin! (More Info)

PRECISION KINEMATICS (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
Clients love the integration of movement into massage sessions; these movements are both playful and yet very powerful. The effect on the nervous system is deeply relaxing, a perfect complement to both relaxation massage and highly specific soft-tissue techniques. For the client, it adds an element of movement exploration that makes the massage more interesting and enjoyable. For the therapist, Precision Kinematics can be used to transition from one massage technique to another, to integrate new range of motion possibilities after treatment, or to clarify where to direct further specific treatment. SCIATIC SOLUTIONS: A PRECISION APPROACH (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED EDUCATION)
Clients who present with sciatic pain are often the most perplexing and challenging cases seen by massage therapists. We know that there must be other options besides surgery, but overly simplistic approaches like aggressive treatment of the piriformis often make symptoms worse, not better. What are the most effective and efficient soft-tissue approaches for these clients who desperately need our help? We have revised this section of the Neural Mobilization seminar to have a sharp and very practical focus on issues of the sciatic nerve. Participants will leave with a deep understanding of the nature of neural pain and how soft tissue strategies can be of enormous benefit. That deep knowledge and resulting array of possible strategies can then be broadly applied to other neural issues as well. This one day training can revitalize your practice and provide hope and relief to clients who had neither. (More info)

NERVE DYSFUNCTION OF THE UPPER BODY: A PRECISION APPROACH Â (8 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED EDUCATION)
It is not uncommon for clients to present with neural symptoms down the arm- tingling, numbness, and sometimes a burning feeling. There are often little resources for these clients in the traditional medical system. There is much that precise soft tissue treatment can do to positively affect these symptoms, but the therapist must first deeply understand the mechanisms of neural issues. In this one day seminar, you will attain deep understanding of why symptoms happen and what you can do about it. Your clients will deeply appreciate the help you can give them. (More Info)

PNMT FORM AND FUNCTION:Â INTEGRATING STRUCTURAL AND FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT (16Â HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
PNMT Form and Function is about clinical decision making, helping therapists increase effectiveness by treating the right muscle for the right reason. The wisdom (and the art) is in the choosing. Structural assessment is important, but must be done with speed and accuracy. Moreover, how can you know that the structural asymmetry is related to the client's presenting symptom? By integrating functional assessment as well, this seminar can help you design treatment protocols that create measurable and immediate improvements for the client. (More Info)

PNMT FOR THE CERVICAL SPINE (16 HOURS OF NCBTMB APPROVED CONTINUING EDUCATION)
In a recent study, the likelihood of someone experiencing neck pain in a given year is about 23%. In other words, about 1 in 4 people will have a bout of neck pain this year, with the incidence rate being much higher in people who work in an office at a computer. These numbers translate to the massage table; neck pain will account for many of the visits to massage therapists this year.

The reality is, neck pain is complex. Releasing the suboccipitals can be wonderful in certain circumstances, disastrous in others. There is no routine that works for all the different iterations of possible neck issues. In PNMT, we don't teach routines, we focus in reasoning and problem solving. That takes time and expert guidance from the instructor. There is NO substitute for hands-on experience and the guidance of a mentor, especially in an area so small and complex as the neck.. LEVEL TWO SEMINARS
Level Two Seminars are Available to PNMT Certified Students
LEVEL TWO: SPINE
In Level Two Spine, the theme is thinking skeletally. Massage therapists see and feel the body from a soft-tissue paradigm. While this is understandable and valuable, it is only part of the full picture. Looking at the body from a skeletal perspective offers a new window into optimum functioning. While the treatment is still soft-tissue based, we use skeletal palpation to reveal which soft-tissue to treat. This vastly improves the functional understanding of the PNMT Therapist. What follows is careful examination of the body from a skeletal perspective. (More Info)
LEVEL TWO: UPPER EXTREMITIES
In Level Two Upper Extremity, we will refine and build upon your knowledge from the Core Level seminars. You will be immersed in shoulder, hand, and arm issues. The exact conditions we explore can also be dictated by the interests of the attending therapists. From trigger finger and frozen shoulder syndrome to rotator cuff issues, what you want to learn is what you will see. In depth information is presented along with the chance to see patients who struggle with the conditions we are studying. (More Info)
LEVEL TWO: LOWER EXTREMITIES
In Level Two Lower Extremities, we will explore common conditions from the hip to the foot. Broad categories would include hip, knee, and foot issues. You will learn new advanced approaches and then immediately apply them in real world situations with clients who have that exact problem. These people aren't models, they are real clients who expect results. (More Info)
